It is very important to inform the principal and enrolment officer if your child has any special circumstances, allergies, health, or medical conditions before your child starts school. This information helps the school to:
- Ensure your child's safety and well-being while at school
- Prepare appropriate support and accommodations tailored to your child's needs
- Respond effectively in case of emergencies or medical situations
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for your child
By sharing these details early, you help the school provide the best possible care and support for your child throughout their time at school.
When to start school?
When to start your child at school is an individual decision. You may want to discuss this with us or with your child's pre-school teacher, carer or doctor. Key factors include:
- Age - children may be enrolled in Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn five years of age on or before the 31st of July in that year and all children must be enrolled by their sixth birthday
- Physical readiness
- Social and emotional readiness
- Children don't need to read and write before they start school
