Merit card/awards system policy
- The system is a tiered system spanning a student's whole school career at Murray Farm Public School.
- The tiered system is where certificates are traded for the next level of award.
- The system rolls over from year to year, beginning from 2008 and the onus for keeping and trading awards is with the student.
- A Senior Executive will administer the trading of certificates for each of the levels, carefully documenting and authenticating the traded certificates.
- Merit Certificates will be given by each class teacher – Kindergarten to Year 6 and these will be awarded at the fortnightly assemblies.
The system of exchange is as follows:
- Four Merit Certificates = One Student Achievement Award
- Two Student Achievement Awards = One Outstanding Achievement Award
- Two Outstanding Achievement Awards = One Star Award (To be presented at a Principal's Morning Tea)
- Any subsequent Outstanding Achievement Award = Super Star Award (to be presented by the School Education Director at a Special Assembly).
